They often use classical medallions as centerpieces, or as well as all over designs of vine scrolls and palmetts. These specific rugs tend to be of a coarser weave, which makes the wool look less lustrous. Traditionally these Mahal’s come in dark reds, and blues, with highlights of soft greens and ivory’s.
